Over the weekend on November 4th, 2017 Genesis Aburto from Weiser won the title of Miss Gem State Princess. This Event was held at the BSU Special Events Center in Boise. Genesis is the daughter of Cristina Aburto and Granddaughter to Debra Aburto. Aburto performed a lively tap dance number to boogie boogie bugle boy which she has been asked to perform at future appearances for the organization. Genesis has only been tap dancing for a few months but has a passion and talent for dancing. The areas of competition these young ladies were judged on were: Fun Fashion, Interview and Evening Gown. The International Junior Miss Pageant system focuses on each girls “natural beauty,” poise and confidence. The contestants were encouraged not to wear much makeup on stage. Backstage you would find Genesis saying encouraging words to the other contestants which says a lot of who she is as a person with her giving spirit. Genesis has been working hard in the community to make her dream come true by selling cookies, lemonade and tamales. This talented girl also maintains straight A’s in school and is willing to help others in school who need help. Along with winning the title of Gem State Princess Genesis will also receive a prize package worth over $500. Genesis also won awards for: Best Interview, Best Interview Outfit and a Marketing award. This young lady of only 7 years old will be headed off to represent Idaho at the National Competition this July 2018 in San Antonio, Texas. Congratulations to this delightful young lady!
Another adorable young lady Lucy Fitzsimonds participated in the same competition and came home with the title of Miss Idaho Junior Princess. Lucy is the daughter of Lee and Taunya (Kautz) Fitzsimonds and Granddaughter to George and Emma Kautz of Weiser and Ben and Kim Kautz also of Weiser. This adorable 5 year old is full of spunk and sass. Anyone who knows Lucy is familiar with the struggles she has been through and has overcome. At an even smaller age Lucy had a few struggles with her speech. With endless perseverance from her parents Lucy has been able to defeat that trial. With all that hard work Lucy also came home with the best interview award. Among winning the Title of Miss Idaho Junior Princess, this ball of cuteness also won: Best Gown, Best Personality and Best Interview Attire. Lucy will also come home with a prize package worth over $1000 and will be attending the National competition this July 2018 in San Antonio, Texas. Congratulations to this adorable young lady.
At such a young age these girls are already making their dreams come true. We are excited to see what lies ahead for these young ladies in the Future. Best of Luck at Nationals!
