Weiser has been chosen as one of 20 cities in Idaho to be part of “The Experience Tour” for Inspire Idaho. On Thursday March 29th experts trained in Apple app development, members of the Innovation Collative and University of Idaho Washington County Extension will be at the Weiser Vendome for two tour showings at 7:30 am and 10 am. This event will include hands-on demos of Apple Inc.’s Swift, Xcode and Playground products through interactive activities. The Inspire Idaho team will demonstrate app development, programming and motivate participants to join the rapidly growing “app economy”. This event is free, no registration is required and is for all ages.
The application development field currently generates $1.3 trillion in revenue and is expected to grow to $6.3 trillion by 2021. The tour is designed to generate awareness and promotion of workforce readiness training that is being facilitated by the University of Idaho Extension Offices. This training targets people of all ages and backgrounds.  If you want to learn full app development the opportunity to do so at no cost, with the assistance of experts will be available here in Weiser.  The program will utilize Apple Inc’s Everyone Can Code curriculum. Experts and mentors in the community will provide support and guidance to generate a fully developed app. This program is designed to help you make more money, be a part of a new growing economy, and unlock the fullness of your potential” according to Nick Smoot, founder of the Innovation Collective.
“I look forward to seeing the whole community at this special event. I raised my hand and volunteered to be trained as an Expert in this program because I see the huge potential for economic development in Washington County. I convinced the organizers to put Weiser on the tour map. I’d like to see us prosper because hundreds of people access this free training and learn to be Apple app developers, attracting new industry and jobs to Washington county.”  –
