There are only 4 weeks left to purchase tickets for our “Fishing Trip” raffle. The drawing will be held after lunch on Wednesday, June 6th. If you are the winner you can take you and three of your friends on a one-half day charter fishing trip on the Snake River in Hells Canyon. You will be fishing for Sturgeon, Bass and Trout. Your win is good for anytime during the summer or fall fishing seasons. Don’t be left out, contact the Senior Center today to find out where you can purchase the winning ticket. That number is 208-257-3358!
There are so many things that are coming up on Hells Canyon Day’s this year that conflict with our “All you can Eat Taco Feed” we have been having for the past 15 years, that I don’t know how successful we will be this time. But, we will have our 15th Annual Taco Feed on Friday June 1st from 5 to 7 PM to help kick off the festivities. I hope you will mark your calendars and join us for some delicious food before you go to other activities. The price is still $7 and includes an all you can eat Taco Bar plus beverage and dessert. I hope to see you there.
This Sunday, May 13th is Mothers Day, and to celebrate the day, we are serving a roast turkey dinner this Wednesday, May 9th at noon. The menu includes, Roast turkey, mashed potatoes and gravy, herb dressing, green beans, Jell-O fruit salad and Key Lime Pie. Then on Friday, May 11th we are having Pizza. Ursula makes the best pizza outside of Italy so don’t worry about calories, just come and enjoy.
On Wednesday, May 16th we will be serving roast beef, mashed potatoes and gravy, broccoli, rolls, salad and Cherry crisp. The food pantry will be held that same afternoon from 2 to 3 PM.
We will be closed on Friday, May 18th. That is the day the Veteran’s have their annual Fish Fry and many of our members like to go and support them. I don’t think that the card players will be playing that night either as many of them are working the event. If you want to have a really good fish dinner, the veterans hall in Midvale is the place to be on May 18th.
Happy Mother’s day on Sunday! I will see you all in the paper next week; God willing and the Cree don’t rise!
I always thought it was creek, but the actual saying had to do with the Cree Indians. Just a little bit of trivia for you to think about.
