It’s 3 O’clock in the afternoon on Monday November 19th and everyone from the EOA Board has finally gone home after the Executive Committee Meeting.   Laurel Sherman cooked a delicious meal of Country fried Steak with all the extras and I’m full as a tick on a hound dog.  Do I feel like writing?  No, but duty calls so here I am.
                I would like to thank Pat Davenport, Lynda Yoder, Gen Fisk, Karen Atteberry, Charlie Caruso and Kay Van Order for volunteering to help put on breakfast and lunch for those attending the Quarterly Board meeting of EOA.  It was nice to have visitors from other senior centers visit us for a change.
                Tomorrow, Tuesday, November 20 is our Thanksgiving meal here at the Center.  We are having Roast turkey, mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans, fruit salad, whole wheat rolls, cranberry sauce, herb stuffing and of course, pumpkin pie!  I’m not going to be home for thanksgiving as I will be working elsewhere, so this meal is going to be Thanksgiving dinner for my husband and I. 
                Lot’s of people go out to restaurants for Thanksgiving dinner, but nowhere can they go and get a meal as good as our cook, Ursula, makes.  Plus the price is right too!  Where else can you get a full meal including coffee and dessert for $5 if you are 60 and over or $7 if you are under 60.  The answer is:  No where! 
                The center will be closed for the remainder of the week, so no meal on Friday, November 23rd.   Our next meal will be on Wednesday, November 28th and it will be Fried chicken, mashed potatoes and Gravy, coleslaw, corn, rolls and fresh apple cake.  Then, the last meal of November will be on November 30th.  We are serving Clam Chowder, turkey sandwiches, garden salad, pears and dessert.
                The next meal will be on the 5th of December.  It is also the day for our Annual Meeting, and the drawing for the beef Raffle.  So you have about two weeks left to purchase your beef raffle tickets!  They are $5 each or 5 tickets for $20.  If you are one of the four winners, your quarter of a beef will be valued at well above $630.  Now that is a lot of good eating.

                Well, the blood is still flowing from my brain to my stomach, so although I would like to write more, my thoughts are on digestion and I’m ready for a nap.  Seriously though, I hope to see you tomorrow, ,but if for some reason you don’t make it for dinner with us I wish you all a very Happy Thanksgiving with your family and friends.
