I went to the Upper Country singers concert yesterday afternoon.  Wow, what a great performance.  We have so much talent in this little area of Idaho.  It made me wish I would have spent the extra night out each week and been a part of the performance.  I was a grateful audience member instead.  Having sung with this group for many years, I know just how much work goes into putting this on each year.  If you weren’t able to attend, perhaps you can next year.  I promise you. You will be glad you did.
They had a surprise visit from Santa this year, thank you Alex, you were perfect for the part! He came in right on time after Jennifer and Mike McNally sang “Santa Claus is coming to town” .  Davy Nudo sang a George Strait song about Christmas cookies and there was a dance group from Midvale as well as our very own Upper Country children’s choir.  They were all fantastic! A REAL “Feel Good” afternoon.  I am ready for Christmas!
Thank you to all of you who participated in the program, it was your gift to all of us!
Two more days until the Beef Raffle.  You can still purchase tickets until noon on December 5th, after that you will have to wait until next year.   I’m excited to see who will be drawn.  Rich Yoder will be going down to pick up the meat that morning, so it will be here to give to the winners.
There are also two more days until our annual meeting.  We have two individuals who have volunteered to run for the vacant board seats and I couldn’t be happier.  We have had a great board and these two, Charlie Caruso and Janice Jones will be wonderful additions to our governing board.
A special Thank you to Norm Dopf and Linda Whitlatch for their past service to the senior center (they have served their terms and are retiring) and know that if you are ever inclined to run again we will always welcome you back .
Of course, there are always terms that end each year, so if you didn’t volunteer this year, there will be another chance for you to serve in 2020!
On Tuesday, December 11th Crystel, our driver, will be driving the van to Ontario and parts in between for shopping.  There is a signup sheet on the front table or you can call me and I will put your name on the list.
Then, on Wednesday, December 12th Adams County health will be back with a program on “Paying it Forward and Seasonal Depression “  the program will be about 20 to 30 min long and start right after lunch that day.  I hope you can attend, holidays aren’t always the happiest times of our lives, especially if you are alone or older.  There is help available locally, so come and find out about it.
December 12 is also the last board meeting of 2018.  It is held in the back room at the US Bank building. The meeting starts at 10:30 and anyone who is interested can attend.
Then Monday, December 17th , Pat and Mary will be here for this  month’s foot clinic.  You do need an appointment so call me at 208-257-3358 if you are needing this service.   December 19th is this month’s food pantry as well as our Christmas dinner!  The only day the center will be closed this month is on Wednesday, December 26th.
Well, I’m out of things to say and probably space in the newspaper.  Have a great week everyone!
