It is official! Dr. Mary Ridout is the new Washington County Extension Educator – Agriculture/Horticulture. Dr. Ridout has Masters and Bachelor degrees from University of Idaho in Plant Science/Horticulture and a PhD in Natural Resources/Plant Pathology from the University of Idaho. She is a current postdoctoral fellow in the University of Idaho College of Natural Resources, conducting plant-microbe interactions research and teaching plant science and nursery management courses. As a new Extension Educator, Mary will be focused on planning and conducting multi-county agriculture and horticulture educational programs for clientele in Washington and surrounding counties. She will begin her UI Extension career on June 17, 2019.
