American Legion District Nine comprised of 12 Idaho American Legion Posts from as far North as Riggins and as far East as Placerville held their semi-annual district meeting at Post 72 in Council, Idaho March 30. Attendees included American Legion and American Legion Auxiliary members from throughout the district, plus representatives from the American Legion Department of Idaho and National representatives.
District meetings such as this held throughout the State give local Legion members an opportunity to stay informed on Department and National Legion news, as well as comparing notes at the Post level for each of the Legion Posts in attendance. Each of the Posts had an opportunity to report on their activities in support of Veterans and their families, with several of them discussing the benefits of American Legion Boys State. During the meeting the Legionnaires took a few minutes for a photo op in front of the Army Tank on display at the Council Post. Also pictured were the newly sworn in District Nine officers from left to right:
District Chaplin: James Eavanson from Payette Post 33
First Vice Commander: Jackie Valentine from Riggins Post 130
Adjutant/Finance Officer: Daniel Greig from Payette Post 33
Sgt. At Arms: James Shake from Payette Post 33
