Cambridge FFA’s co-spotlight members for April are RyLee Russell and Jason Damon. RyLee and Jason are seniors and have been active members in the Cambridge FFA all throughout high school.

RyLee enjoys writing poems, spending time with friends, and working with her animals for fair. Over the years RyLee has competed in the floriculture, horse judging, and vet science CDEs, and plans to compete in the Ag Communications event at Moscow State CDEs. RyLee has put in a lot of work in the floral shop which helped her team place both 3rd and 5th state wide in the CDE. She also made a Top Scrapbook in the state her junior year, with co-historian, Annalise DeVries.

RyLee will be taking a market steer to fair this year, and will also be showing a goat. She is a 2x reserve and 1x grand champion in dairy goat showmanship due to her perseverance in everything she does. RyLee has also held numerous leadership roles in the chapter and served as our chapter treasurer this year.

After high school RyLee plans to attend the University of Idaho to major in Child Family and Consumer Studies to later get a career as a social worker or counselor.

Jason enjoys fishing, working for Ray and Vicki Turnbull in the summer, and playing sports. Over the years Jason has competed in the Ag Mech and Livestock Evaluation CDE’s Jason recently received first place, gold ranking proficiency award at the state level for forage production, his proficiency will be sent on to Nationals. Jason has put in a lot of work for the greenhouse, and even made the display racks for his senior project.

Jason has taken market swine to fair in past years, but will be leaving for his basic training soon. He plans to be in the Army Reserves, and later attend the University of Idaho to major in Agribusiness.

RyLee and Jason are well-rounded individuals and show great promise for their future. The Cambridge FFA chapter is proud to showcase RyLee Russell and Jason Damon, April 2019 Spotlight Members!
