The Weiser Community and Senior Center is located right on Main Street behind Les Schwab. Many of us have known this facility as the “Senior Center” for some time now, but they really have a lot to offer!
They have recently changed it to “Weiser Community and Senior Center”, and had a ribbon cutting with the Chamber of Commerce. Kathy Huerta is the Director at the Center, along with Alex Chavarria as the president of the Board of 8 members. They want the community to know what the Center has to offer, not only for the seniors but for the community as well.
They have also hired a new cook, which we did a story on, Harold Norris, who has been doing a great job! They serve lunch 5 days a week, with the exception of Major holidays. During Fiddle Festival they serve breakfast only from 7 A.M. to 11A.M for $6.00 a person. During lunch, 5 days a week, they open the salad bar at 11:30 A.M. and serve lunch at 12:00 P.M. for $6.00 a person. You can find the lunch menu on LivingInTheNews.Com under the restaurant guide.
They serve breakfast on the first Saturday of every month, all you can eat from 8:00 A.M. to 10:30 A.M. at $6.00 a person.
This facility is also ideal to use as a venue for parties, wedding receptions, reunions and more! They just had Mardi Gras in May, with DJ Alicia Cavazos, pool and darts in a smoke free environment! As well as having food and drinks for purchase. There is an 80s themed party on the horizon, so watch for more information on that!
As for the seniors in our community they host senior dances. They also do home delivered meals to 45 homes. Anyone who is interested in helping can sponsor a meal by donation of $5.00 a meal. On the last Friday of every month they have the Quilt of Valor ceremony for a special person in our community.
So please come on over and experience the food and environment for yourselves and let your friends and family know about it!
Thank you from the Director Kathy Huerta, President Alex Chavarria and the Board!
