As many as 275 youth, ranging in age from 11 to 18, will be offering several free hours of service to public and private applicants from Payette, Weiser, Midvale, and Cambridge on Wednesday, June 26th of this year.

The day of service is being planned for a portion of this year’s “Christ For Life” Youth Millennial Trek from the Weiser Stake of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints that will begin on June 25th and end on June 29th.

During this time, youth from McCall, Riggins, Council, Cambridge, Midvale, Weiser, and Payette will be guests of host families in Weiser and Payette while attending the service projects, listening to guest speakers, offering a tribute to local first-response employees at the Vendome Center, and interacting with one another at an activities day on The Lazy Bear Ranch.

The event will conclude on Saturday the 29th following a day of worship, service, and instruction at the Meridian, Idaho Temple on Friday. A formal “etiquette” dinner with entertainment and instruction at the Four Rivers Cultural Center in Ontario will end the day on Friday.

The central theme and purpose of the four-day event is to bring the youth together with their host families and company leaders to build and share their testimonies of Jesus Christ and how they can emulate his influence for their good and the good of others.

The youth, along with adult company leaders, will be divided into small groups on the service day  to travel to various projects in various communities. Property owners will be responsible for furnishing tools like rakes, shovels, painting supplies, etc. Owners may also be required to supply gloves.

Applications for service groups are available by calling 208-257-3767 or by emailing books@ctcweb.net. An application form will be mailed to you or you may get one online at christforlife2019.org.

There is no guarantee that your application will be approved. Logistics, project feasibility, and availability of workers may prohibit some from being addressed on that day. If your project is accepted, you will be contacted in plenty of time to make the proper arrangements.
