Every year for the last 5 years the Weiser Elks donate to the Fiddle Festival Kids Day put on by Weiser Classic Candy. The Weiser Elks also donate to the Rec Department every year for decades now!

For Kids Day, which is held on State Street from Weiser Classic Candy to Idaho Street, the Elks pay for the rentals such as; the dunk tank, swings kid ride, and this year they had a bouncy obstacle course for kids to enjoy. The also contribute by manning and hosting the cotton candy booth during kids day. Arrow Heart youth group help run the booth with the Elks. They provide drug educational awareness information for kids from the D.A.R.E Program.  From Patrick Nauman at Weiser Classic Candy “The commitment of the Weiser Elks Lodge to our Kids Day event is greatly appreciated! Without their generous donation Kids Day would not be as successful nor would the organizations raise nearly as much money as they do. Thanks to the Weiser Elks we are able to continue to offer this event to our community!”

The Elks do a grant for the Rec Department every year; it has been an ongoing partnership for years. This year they went to Big 5 Sports in Ontario to inquire about soccer balls, baseball bats, baseball tees and youth footballs. This year the Rec Department received a $900 donation. Director Ken Anderson expresses “I am very thankful to the Elks organization. They have always come through when the recreation department is in need. Last year the donated $2500 and we were able to buy new youth football helmets.”

A smaller portion of this grant pays for hotdogs and hamburgers as well as snacks for the volunteers that include FFA and 4-H that place a small flag on our veteran’s graves (300+ flags).

“We got a mission and we keep on going. We love supporting our community” states Jerry Barnard from our very own Weiser Elks.
