Ward Sutton was presented with a beautiful Quilt of Valor on August 30 th at the Senior
Center in recognition of his military service during the Korean War.
Ward, originally from Midvale, Idaho, served in the Korean War from July, 19, 1952 until
September of 1953 when he was returned back home to the United States. He attained
the rank of Sargent First Class. Thankfully, he did not see action. While in Korea, he
was transferred to the “Line Service,” which was the post office because he was able to
type. He crossed over the International Date Line twice by sea. Once back home, he
met his wife in church while he was watching his uncle’s property while he was on
vacation and the rest is history. (Pictured with Ward is his lovely wife Joyce).
