This weekend is Weiser’s Annual Craft Fair and there are a lot of great talented artists with their crafty art for sale that will be there!
Carol Stewart is one of those amazingly talented people! She makes baked potato sacks and embroidered kitchen towels! This year she has added what she calls a Mug Rug! “It is basically like a glorified coaster, which is 4x6in, with room for your coffee cup and a cookie!” states Carol. Carol also makes, very well made, quilted carry-on travel bags!
Carol dabbled in sewing while she had young kids but has really loved to learn embroidering. Carol bought an embroidering machine and taught herself to use it.
“It reminds me of a band that your children are in; they all play a different instrument, they each play their own part and it sounds good individually… but when they all play together it creates a beautiful music piece. That is like the embroidery machine, it starts with one color at a time and when it is all done it makes a beautiful piece of art.”
Carol has her baked potato bags in the gift shop at the Capital in Boise, Idaho. She also displayed her stuff in Second Chance for a bit. She has been attending the local craft fair for 11+ years and enjoys it very much!
You can find Carol at the Weiser Craft Fair this Friday and Saturday November 22nd & 23rd. Friday will be from 10am to 6 pm and Saturday- 10am to 4pm. If you can’t make it to the craft fair but would like to check out Carol’s stuff you can find her on Etsy!
